During the presentation reel, William Dozier stressed that the Green Hornet would not be a copy of Batman.

Now here's a real find. This is the logo that they were going to go with. I can see elements of the mask worn during 'Programmed For Death'. It seems George Trendle's dislike of that  design may have resulted in this logo being  discarded.

Some studio paperwork  indicates the time line for the final design logo was June 2, 1966
I understand that the ABC Night to remember film was sent to Dozier for approval on May 31, 1966. Hence this draft logo was used instead.

A recording of 'Flight Of The Bumblebee' was lifted from an original radio episode and played over the closing credits. This caption was used in both versions followed by the actors/characters names.

There does seem to have been a flurry of activity in the early days of filming. At least 4 different mask designs were tried out. Different logos. It is claimed that the 'Hornet Sting' gun was a last minute addition when the 'Gas Gun' kept mis-firing.
If so, I for one am glad. I think it's really cool...
